This is two years after this video and you can now buy the same sort of plugs, mine are by Tapo no doubt other makes available as well for ten pounds and they have been cheaper, so half price from two years ago. Not sure if you mentioned it but you can also (at least with the ones i have) have schedules on these plus a "holiday" feature so you can switch for ex a light off and on randomly between set times.
Note, the Tapo ones at least can be bought with and without energy monitoring I have both. So as you say double check when buying which version as they look identical.

Thought you might be interested to know that the Smart Life app & the Tuya Smart app (also used for these smart plugs) were updated to CHARGE for energy monitoring. I purchased smart plugs with monitoring, and I'm highly disappointed to find out that the only way I can get the energy data is to pay $24.99 US dollars per year! Did your apps auto update where you reside such that you have to pay to get your energy usage?

Do devices such as these take into account their own consumption? This is probably so minimal but just wondering. Since over a year it will have consumed somewhat

Thanks for the video, do you know of any that monitor via a browser rather than an app?

I don't think the Teckin SP23 offers the Energy Monitoring anymore... Just brought one and hooked it up, and the STATISTICS option is not there now..😐

I was wondering, how detailed are the consumption reports? In the video, I can see the daily reports. but does it get more detailed than that? such as hourly or even minute by minute consumption reports? I'm really curious to know. :)

also, if this device can only do daily at most detailed, is there a smart plug that offers this service? I'm trying to find something like that, haven't found any (yet) but maybe I'm not searching for it correctly.

Anyhow. Thanks!

how does this meters measure watts anyway.. at 4:23 the current is 0.670Amps and voltage 239.5.. P=V*I means watts = 0.67*239.5 = 160.5w not 119.9watts.. which is whats in the app shows you...
