I was studying this for hours on my main language (PT-BR), but you explained it so clearly that language wasn't a barrier at all, thank you so much!

One thing people who are teaching Hex addition keep missing out that I feel is important, is that you are subtracting 16 from your answer, how are beginners meant to know this without some telling them this.

Thanks man, great way of doing it.  Another nice way to check answers for hex, octal or binary addition if you have windows is opening the windows calculator, clicking on view, then clicking programmer.  You should be able to choose your number system on the left (windows 7). This is also useful for quickly converting between number systems.

these videos are not stand-alone videos; you are expected to have some knowledge in converting between bases, see other videos starting with the title starting with 'Converting...'. hopefully they will provide more explanation as to why 23 in base 10 is eqaul to 17 in base 16.

It's easier for me to count up from the larger "number". So A+D. Count 10 more (using your fingers to keep track from D. So E, F, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17. Put down the 7, and carry the 1.

I don't know where the 1 in 17 and 16 came from but i'll keep putting one to the left of the number i get.Thank you so much

Guys it’s just like modular arithematics

13+10=23
23=1*16+7
7 is the sum and 1 is the carry and so on

Also, what happens if you add 2 numbers together and they equal 16 or 26?

Just 1 question, where did the 1 come from in "1D" when you were solving the left most column?
