AUDIO ENGINEER REACTS: Apple AirPods 4 and Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max Sound Tests

The Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max has a new camera control button, iOS 18, and a desert titanium color. I looked at the latest iPhone 16 Pro Max, compared the desert titanium with natural titanium, and tested the speakers to see if there was a difference. I also tested the AirPods 4 to see how well the ANC performs with its outer ear design and new shape.

I was also curious as to why there isn’t a touch id on the camera control. I looked up articles and they say 90% of what makes the touch id also makes up what the camera control is in terms of hardware. They missed or did not want to implement the touch ID when they could have.

I have been looking to upgrade from AirPods 2nd gen, I currently have a pair of WH-1000XM5 but I don’t like taking them to school, but when I have a really enjoyed the ANC. Having a pair of open ear earbuds with ANC is exciting for me because silicon tipped earbuds don’t fit very well in my ear and hurt for after wearing them for long periods of time. Would love to see a AirPods comparison with the gen 2, gen 2 pro, gen 3, gen 4, and gen 4 ANC and see if the upgrade is worth it. (PS: looked to your channel when buying my XM5’s and have never been more satisfied with my purchase, love the videos, keep up the good work!)

I think the camera control has the capability of touch ID, but they are waiting until maybe the 17 or 18 series to rollout that "feature." They want to make sure people are upgrading as frequently as possible...
