David Thompson is a fantastic, crisp, clear speaker. By the way he explains, you can tell he really understands the foundations of what he's talking about. Wish I had him as a teacher in college.

@ 11:27, "the top 6 principal components." However, PCA will typically generate as many components as there are variables, even if in the end we only choose the top 6. As far as I know, we can't ask PCA to only generate 6 components if we have, say, 10 variables. It will generate 10 components, but we may decide to only keep the first 6. At least this is true in classic PCA.
