Driving into water with your family with full confidence tells a lot about the capability of this Chinese car!

I paid $6700 for the engine repair of my BMW M2 due to the water intake in the last severe rain in Fort Lauderdale. I need a BYD definitely.

Ok that’s the most impressive thing I’ve seen the U8 do. Spinning in place meh, interior ok, but turning into a boat?😮

So isn’t it interesting that they didn’t tell you where you can buy one of these?

They never opened the passenger door, wanted to see all the water coming out from the interior.

Where was the water draining out from at the end of the video? Shoes wet?

The system is for emergency use, not for leisure use. Imagine someone open the plane door, jump out the slide just for the fun. I feel sorry for the BYD engineerer

I would really love to see durability tests on this car before I buy

America had boat cars in the 60s. This is cool though. But the front is to low looks dangerous. Buy it for emergency only I hope. The way chiba has floods the need make all vehicles this way. America had one in the 60s drive it. Straight In the river. An it stayed level. It had a perpealer s meter blade a the back below the bumper when you drove it in the water the front was not under water. An some where convertibles. But this is cool

How would that be if the water in that pond was actually flowing? How would you control the car's direction of travel and avoid other objects in the water? It doesn't look too useful for fishing or waterskiing to me. I'd rather buy a regular petrol-powered SUV or pick-up truck to haul a proper boat on a trailer to the lake/river/ocean.

Those electrics must be very waterproof.

watching it go around made me so nervous for the family, with the windows open it looked like one little wave away from a disaster
