Hats off to the heavily modified Hellcat! - even though the Tesla gave him a big advantage by not launching. One of the things people forget is the control system to the motors in a Tesla is far superior to all other cars, that's why it beats all the other EV's too. The Tesla traction control is completely state of the art, much better than any other automaker.

This video is ruining the reputation of the plaid because people are using this video and running with assuming this race is fair and didn't even watch this video. This was a super handicap race

Something didn't look right with the hellcat roll race. experienced drag and street racers can tell you this. guys watch the hellcat spin several times, pedaled the gas several times and swerve = no way it could catch the Plaid IMO.

That was a cool race I been wanting to race a Tesla Plaid . The race pretty much went like I thought . Tesla kicked my butt, I need a 720s with downpipes and tune to keep up with the plaid 😩

Hey dude, racing a challenger you in the 60's battery and then giving him the hit is flat-out crazy. You deserve to lose that one. You are running with a 40% handicap and you outweigh him by at least 800 lbs.

That Hellcat couldn’t beat the Plaid fairly. It’s not engineered enough to grip like an AWD.

Misleading title. The Plaid gave away one of its advantages by not launching

the plaid is actually about 50% more aerodynamic (about .2 vs .3 drag coeff)
and even though is much larger it has less drag . drag area 7sqft vs 7.5sqf. it's the reason why it will reach 200mph effortlessly when the higher speed is unlocked. with longer gearing it could go 250mph.
BTW if you watch the full vid you'll know he gave the hellcat the hit and didnt do launch control or even smash the throttle, basically he waited for the hellcat. stock hellcat does 7-8s 60-130mph, plaid 4.4s so I doubt it's gonna accelerate twice as fast with turbos and 900hp.
