Keep Going, by Edgar Guest. Guest puts his hand on our shoulder and entreats us, gently, warmly, to keep going, however uphill the road we are on is proving to be.

Inspiring, but never hectoring; humorous but still with a strong message, Edgar Guest's poems are unfussy, clean-cut and unmistakably wholesome. His gentle good humour permeates every topic and many will find his message, and good humour, linger long after the reading.

Edgar Albert Guest (20 August 1881 – 5 August 1959) was a British-born American poet who was popular in the first half of the 20th century and became known as the People's Poet. His poems often had an inspirational and optimistic view of everyday life.
