I remember when I was in my alt phase, I wore a rosary cause I am actually a believer. Teacher got so mad and told me to remove it thinking I was being disrespectful. I told her straight up "No, I am a believer and it makes me feel safe." Shut her right down.

Note to the comments: y’all need help if y’all think it’s somehow “soft” or “bad” to make people respect your personal space. Telling people that is bad to make others respect they personal space is inherently supportive of sexual harassment. Seek therapy.

Watching that old woman (who was probably only a few years older than I am now) reach over and grab at that girl's necklace and push her hair out of her way like she had all the right and privilege to do so, and that no one has given her a "satisfactory reason" as to why they are wearing it, makes me instantly see red and my mouth would have gone to flying, if not my hands too!! Keep your hands to your damn self!!

We use to get our rosaries taken away in public school years ago where I'm from cause it was considered "gang affiliate" even though in Mexican culture we have them as gifts from parents or grandparents and we show them off at school especially if they were the wooden ones that smelled like roses.
