Its mind bogling that liberty city only took 3 years to fully develop only for it to get hit again in fort Staunton, i guess panlantic corporation must've been busy rebuilding it

In the PS2 Version of LCS, trees have different textures while the PSP v. Remains the same as GTA III

GTA 3 was released and set in 2001. GTA Liberty City Stories was released in 2005 but set in 1998.

They separated the canon because this version of Liberty City and GTA IV's are so different. But as you can see, this version was very underdeveloped even in 1998. Basically, the simple fix is a retcon by giving this metropolis a new name and have it be an original fictional city in Liberty State. It's just that this map is so iconic. All it needs is an expansion from the ground up, adding a bunch of new locations and keeping the landmarks with them. And of course, a countryside that needs to retain that eerie, dull feeling these games had.

1998 was bit different than 2001. 2001 no longer have a ferry, 1998 had a ferry. Shortside Vale tunnel stay close in 2001 after the incident of the subway was destroy in 1998.

the most contrast of all is Fort Staunton. From what was the Little Italy (the Forelli's turf) which getting demolished with the explosive from Donald Love's order to become Panlantic Construction's working area 3 years later

Many tend to forget that gta3 was also quite a dark theme like they say about gta4. Its just that it didn't had much content, wasn't so detailed and realistic as gta4 was.
