How to cite or refer to a youtube video using APA Style 7th edition: Tutorial for beginners

From YouTube, copy and use the creator's username, the uploading date, the video title, and the link (URL).

ONLY USERNAME
If you only have the creator's username:

Note! The title must be in italic type. (I don't know how to fix that here, in the comments under the video).

In your running text, write:
... which was common during those historical times (Powerwatercat, 2019).

If you need to quote, use timestamps to tell the reader when the quote starts:
... and it was rare that "these things happened" (Powerwatercat, 2019, 3:18).
The quote starts 3 minutes and 18 seconds into the video in this example.

REAL NAME AND USERNAME
If the creator has a username and uploads videos under that nickname but, at the same time, publically has told everyone about his or her real name, then use both:

Note! Same here; the title needs to be italicized.

In your running text, write:
... doing that could result in negative consequences (Smith, 2021).

AN ORGANIZATION
It's just like the example where you only know the username.
The organization's username, uploading date, title in italics, the word Video in brackets, and the video site's name.

In my examples, it's YouTube --- but it could be that other video platform, Vimeo.

End with the link without a closing period.

ENDING REMARKS/TIPS
In your reference list, the title has to be in italics.

Don't put a period after the links.

Your links can either be in ordinary text or in the form of t.
Just be consistent.

Use ordinary parentheses if you don't know how to create those special brackets.

Please click 'thumbs up', subscribe, or write a comment if you enjoyed the video. Thanks.

All the Very Best!

Cleanest explanation that I've seen for APA7, vastly more useful than some of the 'official guides' out there. Thank you very much!
