Great video thank you. What you say makes total sense!
It is a shame that the government continually interfere with what should be a process that works for everyone, and instead drive up prices and make landlords so unpopular. Let’s face it, the rental sector is very much needed.
I only have one rental which I maintain myself if I can, thus keep the letting price much lower than the market value. However with all the changes the government are making and taking into consideration the trouble I have had with tenants in the past, I am having to increase the rent, and when the tenants which I have at the moment leave, I will probably sell up.
It’s a shame as I wanted to buy a few more rentals, but I really don’t think it’s worth the worry and hassle of getting caught by a bad tenant which can end up costing me rather than giving a return on the investment.
As you say, it is the landlords that only own one or two rentals that are selling up, and given my time again I would probably have started a company and had more rentals, thus avoiding some taxes, then if you get one bad tenant it would be more of an averages game.
If only the government wouldn’t make these changes just to win votes, as it hits everyone in the end and often hits the ones they think they are helping the most.

Never trust a Tory, who needs landlords anyway, we need more council housing, when Maggie Matcher started selling council housing this is the result. I've been renting privately for 38 years and never found a decent landlord yet. Is it reasonable to want to move a family out who looks after the house, spent a lot of money improving the house, my family has yet she tried putting the rent up 100 per month that is horrific and now she says she wants her family in. That's not reasonable. Fair enough if a Tenant has been bad but a lot of landlords will take advantage for their own interests. Can someone tell me anything good about this government? I agree with building more homes that would help a great deal.

7:05 you landlords love talking about how you provide housing like you actually build the houses you let. When what happens is you compete with fist time buyers and out bid them. Last house I viewed I had 2 landlords come and see it and guess who got the house
