I find Goku’s dialogue to be less nonsensical in this dub compared to the english.

I always fit this movie in my head canon. I know it’s not canon, but it fits easily in the 3 years time skip before the androids and the little discrepancies with the canon can be easily explained.
Even Cooler states during the film for Goku to turn SSJ already. Him not turning earlier since he already had the ability, can be easily explained by him just being stubborn and start his fight in crescendo like he always does.

Cooler readied an attack against Goku as he was looking at Goku on the ground, only to be grabbed by Goku from behind as he’s still looking at Goku on the ground. Goku just literally moved beyond the speed of light.
