Me too! I’m not particularly phobic about germs, just realistic and aware of where my hands have been.

Dude, I TOTALLY do that! I teach biology in high school and let me tell you, I do NOT touch my face with my hands ALL DAY. I have trained myself not to do so!

After going to the toilet and washing your hands but then you have to touch the door handle to leave the bathroom… I always use a wad of toilet paper left over from drying my hands to touch the handle. Also I try to use the ends of the door handles rather than the middle where everyone touches.

I definitely think about this all the time! I can't stand shaking someone's hand and I avoid touching certain surfaces if I know I can't wash my hands soon. Love you guys!!

I used to call my husband OCD because of his hand washing. Now, I’m doing the same thing.

This is why some other cultures bow instead of shaking hands. I'm with Dr. Shah. Aside from the germs, Dr Alexis Stephens said in one of her videos that touching our faces can be one of the things that leads to skin issues.

I do that too! Retired nurse and can’t help myself. But I find myself watching to see if my husband does same. Wouldn’t want his dirty hand in my popcorn bowl! 😂

DO IT Once I shake someone's hand or touch anything outside my house, my hand is now contaminated. It's all I think about until I put soap & water on my hands. Purell won't do

Why, yes I do that too! I wish more people would do it also. So many people do not have a "clean conscience" about germs and transmissibility.

My mom was an RN, graduated 1931, so she practiced during a time when awareness of what we can't see can kill us was becoming known. I became a Vet Tech and the 'hand washing' mantra learned at a young age served me well.

I think part of the obsession with washing hands is being in the medical field. I wash my hands before and after I use the restroom plus like 100 times every day.

I didn’t become so concerned about stuff like that until the whole Covid thing went down. Which is crazy, but it stay on my mind now then ever.

I can relate to that: When in choir practice, the conductor always makes us do an exercise to 'rub the cheeks, forehand and neck' in order to stimulate the muscles and combat stiffness. However, I have never done that because these hands which touched the tram barrels, seats and door knobs definitely won't go on the face. Instead, I have the muscles on my own and place the hand in front of the area in the air to avoid the other singers' attention.

What I think about is men who go the bathroom, zip pants and walk out of the bathroom and then touch everything around them and want to shake everyone’s hand. And that is why I do not shake any man’s hand, but instead do namaste sign! And yes, I’m a ret Nurse.

I DO THINK ABOUT THIS TOO. I WORKED IN HEALTHCARE STARTING AT 14. I HAVE BEEN FOCUSED ON CLEAN HANDS SOO MUCH MY HANDS USE TO BLEED FROM WASHING THEM TOO MUCH. I HAVE STOPPED GOING TO THAT EXTREME.

I wash my hands twice a day and haven’t had a cold or the flu since 2010. Our bodies need germs to strengthen our immune systems. (Now, if I worked with patients all day, and touched their skin all day, then I would wash my hands between every patient.)

YESSSS!! I attributed it to OCD. In fact, I do it so obvious that my niece (CRNA) said I'd make a great nurse because I will intentionally not touch anything with the other (clean) in case I need to touch food or anything. I wash my hands 99% of the times after petting my dog (OCD😖) If I don't wash right away or soon thereafter, I remain cognizant that I need to (wash them). Spray antibac overload when not at home or office.
