Assos Mille GTO - Long Term Review

In 1989 while in stationed in went to a bike shop and got my 2nd pair Assos bid shorts. The owner looked at me and said - "I see you know the best!" I tried other brands (Castelli, Rapha) but nothing is as good as ASSOS.

Great review! I’ve looked at your other Assos reviews and I know that the GTO is your favorite Bib. My question is what are your thoughts on the Equipe RS S9 bibs if the majority of your rides are 60-90mins with wknd rides being 2-3hrs. I currently own Giordana FRC-Pro bibs and have no issue with them. I would like to try my hand at Assos. I found a sale on the equipe RS S9 for $149 and a pair of the basic Mille GT bibs for $99. That’s a significant price difference from the $350 GTO bibs that aren’t on sale. I want to try the Equipe RS out but seeing your review and reading from others about how the chamois is thinner just curious what your thoughts are considering the price difference. I'm around your dimensions at 6'4 and 200lb. It seems I am between the L and XL sizes. Do you think this being a comfort fit that the L is more suitable? Have yours kept the same compression in the years you have been wearing them? Thanks for the great review and content Mitch

Great videos! I'm looking to alleviate sit bone pain, do you find the insert in the mille gto to be better at that than the basic mille gt?

Hi! Which Assos bib would you recommend for gravel riding? I was checking their website and came across the Assos Mille GTC Kiespanzer C2 (the one with the back pocket). Do you recommend any other versions of Assos shorts? I’m planning to take long trips next summer, so I’m looking for something that will provide the highest level of comfort.

How is the durability of these for ‘gravel’ riding. Any obvious reason to avoid? Or should I stick with the GTC series of bib shorts.
