The CIA and BND make a play. Starring Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin.

In Season 5 of Homeland the game has changed for Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes). Out of the CIA and living in Berlin, Carrie is trying to start a new life but realizes now she’s the one with a target on her back. As the danger intensifies, and without Saul (Mandy Patinkin) and Quinn (Rupert Friend) to rely on, one thing becomes clear – she’s never been at greater risk or with more to lose.

Incidentally, Miranda Otto builds a spectacular new character, capable of sometimes rivaling Carrie de Claire Danes. Despite a “standard” start, in which we are obliged to her in the most discreet way possible, just like someone that Carrie seeks to ask for a favor, the scripts go on a very interesting crescendo that really succeeds in catching the viewer by surprise, by revealing that she is an agent co-opted by the Russians to infiltrate the CIA, and Otto does not plead and makes his journey credible, showing coldness, but also despair almost in equal parts, revealing a psychological difficulty that a double agent like her must face in life real.
Her human side gains credibility when she is genuinely concerned for her peers - on one side and the other - and takes tentative steps at times, culminating in her magnificent explosion in the bathroom of Saul's hotel room. It is a character that would deserve even more development, perhaps even in a following season if the end of the 5th season was not so definitive in relation to her.

We can say that Alisson was one of the best-built characters in history - alongside Brody, Carrie, Quinn, Dar Adal and Brody... It would be possible to clarify the following doubts:

- Would you like to see Homeland reveal how the CIA explained Brody in Iran and his death to the American press?

- Clearly, Javadi's ability to receive credit for Brody's capture helped his cause in Iran, but did the US government reveal Brody's role in Akbari's murder?

- Was your name cleared for the CIA attack? I'd love to know what you think.

- Another loose thread: Paul Franklin and the murder of the "real" CIA bomber. He ended up doing that scene ... why ??

Carrie was publicly humiliated, beaten, doped, shot and put her life on the line countless times without hesitation, just to make others see Brody as she saw him ... and she succeeded. Abu Nazir, the CIA, Jessica and the show's own audience, no one came close to seeing Brody with the clarity Carrie has always seen. Carrie has always read Brody like no one else.

Ah, Carrie's dialogue with Javadi was incredible, it will be one of the most memorable moments in the series, without a doubt!
“And what you wanted, which was for everyone to see what you see in him. That happened. Everyone sees it through your eyes now ... ”

- How did Carrie see Brody? and how did the US come to see this? It's the world?

The 3rd season did not correspond to the 1st and 2nd as it should be.

Compared to most seasons it was weak, as the plot and plot issues that were overlooked or addressed briefly stood out in season 3. There was no "hunting" in Brody's scenes earlier in the season to make it look like he really was desired NOS.

Where Roya Hammad and his terrorist partner Mister X... They were?

We never received an explanation for the events surrounding how Brody's car was moved and his involvement, only what we got was the "real" author of the bomb at the CIA in a hotel that we must believe to be a super leap that changed the script. For such an investment in storytelling around Brody's family over the past 3 seasons, for him to just disappear the way he did, it was a waste of time - to make Dana's story worse, it was shallow. And all those scenes about Mike and Brody's wife continually in love with each other, and just ending up in season three were useless - and Brody's son disappeared. What about Brody's marine friends who thought he was part of the conspiracy? And Quinn's underutilization throughout the season after being instrumental in the beginning of the second season's premiere.

All positive points, they should have made the homeland a show of this 3rd season and address every possible plot!

Claire Danes and Damian Lewis gave us, in Damian’s words, “two broken-winged birds sort of hobbling and circling around each other” in Carrie and Brody in such a compelling way that even though it really ended in tears, it was a GREAT RIDE as long as it lasted. And if you miss these two as much as we do, you may want to re-live the LOVE with Carrie and Brody: Was It Love? YES.

Homeland had a sensible ending, closed all of Carrie's stories, while continuing the ongoing story of America's and Russia's rivalry. The series ends, but does not end, only better than that was seeing all these years incredible performances by Fahrid Murray Abraham,  Claire Danes, Damian Lewis, Rupert Friend and Mandy Patinkin ...

Quinn is the great hero always fought alone, almost single-handedly. He does not deserve it and can not die!
I am confident, as Quinn fan, he will not die but is very likely to happen! =( =(

Everyone's worried that Quinn is going to die... but does anybody realize that Carrie has been set up to die all season? The season begins with imagery of Christ and of atonement. We even get a pleasant hallucination with Aayan in which she realizes she has sinned to the point where she cannot atone. Furthermore, she has formally said goodbye to her child in a very emotional scene. She is hated everywhere: one episode is dedicated to all the Muslim families which may seek vengeance, she is estranged by the CIA, she does not fit in outside the agency at During's charity organization, and the Russians are literally trying to kill her. Otto has also made it clear to Jonas that Carrie has no future at the company. When he sidesteps Carrie's question about Jonas, it's not because he wants to sleep with her, it's because he wants her to sever her life in Berlin. Carrie is a woman who has done terrible things and this season is going to be about making her pay.

Wow that lighting at the end does not work well for Clare Danes' nose!
