Apple Watch Randomly Listening? Here's How to Stop it!

If you notice the microphone icon on your Apple Watch, it may be listening without you realizing! There are two possible reasons that could cause this and this video shows how to disable them!

I don't use the hand washing app, but I have noticed the watch typing everything I am saying. (it's happened a couple of times). Also, the red dot shows on my watch all the time, as it does on his in the video. All I've discovered is I need to turn Siri off, but when I do, then my phone won't access GPS or Pandora while driving 😥 Sadly, this video didn't tell me how to solve the evesdropping function.

I know this was a year ago, but I’ve been having a similar issue on my Apple Watch SE. You can see which app is using your microphone through the control center, and an app called “Carousel” is using my microphone. I don’t have any apps installed with that name.

Yes - I saw in another video that your watch uses a microphone for listening to water running. I just found that too. I need to find that and make sure it's turned off. I think I can remember to wash my hands for 20 seconds. 😁
Actually, restarting my watch (off/on) made it go away. Go figure!

What that also could be is companies like Google, Facebook, and Twitter, listening in on people’s conversations to deliver more personalized ads and recommended posts/videos/search results.

Does the watch have to be on in order for it to listen secretly ?

I asked Siri to TURN OFF THE MICROPHONE and it went away.

I turned off the clock and turned it on again and the microphone symbol was removed.
