Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) is a standard interface to SAP products' business object models.

BAPIs are the principal interface between SAP products and customer code and third-party applications. When accessing or updating business objects, BAPIs surround the internal layers of SAP's business object model to ensure that all business logic, validations, and authorization checks are appropriately implemented.
