This comparison is not fair actually;

CU7100 which is an edge led, 60 hz, entry level LED device of Samsung without local dimming vs PML9008 which is upper mid level, 120 hz, Mini LED + FALD device of Philips.
Just try to compare PML9008 with a QN85C (VA version) or QN90C and share the results with us :)

The Philips has a really nice black level and apparently superior local dimming which is best seen in the scenes with the fireworks.

Reports of the software being v laggy and buggy. People are using third party devices such as firestick to watch tv via streaming apps. Any truth the software ruins the supposedly smart tv??

Details are missing on the pml. Is it true 4k in game mode or is it just like the oled807 which uses half the vertical pixels?

Had my pml9008 3 days and has done nothing but crash...sometimes wont turn off..turning it off lastnight it kept turning back on to the firestick..the other night i turned the tv off and it kept turning the ps5 on...and yesterday it just had the amberlights on and no picture at all...had to turn off and unplug again at the wal socket.
Out of the box it has way too much blooming. I wouldnt even expect this from a used 200quid tv . I have an 8year old lg and has run totally fine since new
