1. Purchasing goods that have a lower carbon footprint. An example would be having chicken instead of beef.
2. Choosing to use existing containers repeatedly instead of using disposable ones. Although the carbon footprint of non-reusable containers are individually greater, after many uses, the carbon footprint per use is lowered.
3. Reducing our personal electricity consumption by reducing our use of air conditioners and turning off lights and appliances when they are not needed. Be aware of the initial carbon cost of more energy efficient technology and only switch to a more energy efficient device after the previous device has been used for a substantial period of time. (or sell the older device on the secondary market so another person uses it instead of buying a new device) #ActNow
