Excel Keep Leading Zeros - Text vs. Numbers - Advanced Options

Показать описание
Excel is coming out with a new feature that allows you to keep leading zeros. When entering data in Excel, it is important to know when to use Text vs. Number fields. Users will frequently use numbers when they should use text. Examples of fields that should be text include Social Security Number, Employee number, Product Number, Zip codes, and account numbers. The reason they are text is they may have leading zeros, and you are not going to need to perform a calculation on them. Calculations would include average, sum, max, min, etc.

THis only works in an excel workbook, this option isn't available in CSV, which leads you back to the original problem

Great feature but when will it be available in Excel 365 for non beta users?

I am a Microsoft 365 user. I do not see this option in my advanced menu. My Office 365 is up to date. Do you any of you have it yet? I know it shows Beta but it has been 10 months from this video.

Waste of time as you can use the concatenate function, or the Flash Fill (Ctrl E).
