All companies need to have a Factory Tuned option.
I'm sure many people would love a procharger or turbocharger on their small cars.

i guess ppl forget it was meant to be a sporty commuter car not meant to compete against a mustang camaro wrx brz

Honda should revamp their marketing team and strategy

This should have sold this with different power trains.

This should have been sold as the CRX (To link it to its original heritage)

Have the Regular NA Engine = Si

Have the top of the Line regular Engine = SiR (the Original top of the range Badge) and leave the kids with their Type R

K engine (NA) special version with a 10, 300 Red Line (Only avail on the CRX)

Have the regular Hybrid version = HF (Hybrid Fuel Efficiency orientation)

Have the Hybrid with Supercharge = HP (Hybrid Performance orientation)

They made it have the power it should have had all along. It's a great car now!

I've got to give Honda credit for offering hybrids with manual transmissions. Too bad their marketing didn't mention it when they needed to.
One of my biggest gripes about hybrids, especially the ones *claiming* to be sporty, is the automatic transmissions. If you can't make an engaging, involving car, you can't sell me a car. Cars cost thousands of dollars, and for me to spend all that money I have to *like* the car. An automatic is out of the question.

When the CR-Z was advertised the first thing I noticed was the weird styling. Yes, weird. Not cool, not funky, just weird.
The next thing I noticed was the power figure. 130hp was great for a little CRX weighing 1800 lbs...
I don't remember them saying anything about a manual transmission.

Now that I know about that, I wonder if Honda will offer a stick-and-clutch hybrid again. If they do, and if they don't suck at marketing this time, that car will actually be on my radar.

I honestly think that every CRZ should come like this, or at least make this the si model Cuz this is wicked cool and I'm not even a total CRZ fan

All those who factor cash in are missing the point, take a niche car, add boutique performance parts, you get a beautiful and fun car that retains most of the fuel efficiency, a giant boot... Putting money to get something more exclusive and rare, that returns pleasure... This is the point. all the other people get a Megane, a Focus, a Civic, whatever. My 2011 cr-z with JRSC and Spoon brakes is great fun, what is missing from mine is the "factory" clean and tight, almost silent feel. A modified car will never reach a direct factory car in cost. If Honda makes a type S or R out of the CR-Z it will be less money just because you don't have parts to replace. This is still a unique car with no direct comparison or competition. And nothing replaces its sketch : the look of it : classy, sharp, low, compact, space shuttle feel .

I'm not sure that you can legitimately call the CRZ a baby NSX ...although it is a small, overlooked hybrid

Always liked the CRZ as compared to other little commuters. Wouldn't even think of it as a hybrid really "looks wise"

Why not offer this on the si back the day? Such a missed opportunity 😊

I'm saving many pennies to build a K-Swap CR-Z. It's how I feel the car should have been and it's just more stylish to me than another K-Swap EG Hatch. Motor will fit well but the wiring will take some brain work I really want to keep the stock dash components.

I like the CR-Z but to be honest the guy had my full attention when he kept adjusting his cap, was he nervous?

Honestly i just wish it could've met the usa standers for rear seats in the euro car it had rear seats. They should remodel it a bit and get rear seats in at least enough that kids could fit comfortbly and put the new L civic engine in it with a hybrid but for the most part i guess most ppl would just opt for the civic hybrid anyway. Great car but was flawed for many people the crz was really only good for high school kids or people who didn't have kids and didn't want more then one other person in the car with them or delivery drivers. Great car but needed a turbo from stock like the new 10th gen civics and just big enough to have "rear seat" i feel like the civic hatchback is really close to a crx other then the 4 doors. If you made it into a smaller 2 door and call it a crx and you could even turn it into a sporty crx hybrid. But then again most people don't want two doors anymore.

Dead project.  I would get a Fiesta ST.  Honda should have a non hybrid CR-Z.  A nice N/A 1.6 160 hp 2400 pounds. It would be faster, lighter and more efficient than the hybrid CR-z.

why not just put the si engine and call it good

Any chance you guys can change the opening sound to something less harsh and sudden? Just wondering if you guys have thought or heard that before.
