I stayed at Virgin two weeks ago. I was in town on business and, because I planned ahead and booked back in December, I didn't have to pay the resort fee. That's one of the reasons I booked a room at Virgin -- they opened bragging about the fact they didn't have a resort fee, plus free parking and wifi, etc. I like staying off the strip, so Virgin is in a good location. Off the strip but not too far. My junior suite was nice, and the hotel is fresh and modern with some good on-site dining options. But, I doubt if I will stay there again with their new $45 per day resort fee. I'll probably go back to booking AirBNB rentals because I've gotten some good deals and have stayed in some cool properties around town.
