This is a follow up video on my KeePass 2 tutorial. This time we're taking a look at KeePass for Android and how to set everything up so that your database is always in sync between all your devices. We're using the Keepass2Android password manager app in combination with Dropbox to do all of that.

Thank you for your response. Here is my brief story of KeePass application, which has worked flawlessly until Google changed the security rules and destroyed my entire system. I use KeePass2 (not PassKey, my frustration coming out), KeePass2 Android, a PC with the database in Google Drive on the Windows side, and a Pixel2 Android phone. What had worked is having Drive autosync with with the PC based KeePass database so that the database was always current between the Drive and the Windows PC. The Android was set to autosync with Drive. That no longer works. I've tried Drivesync, but too complicated to get it to work, KPSync, but too complicated to get it to work.

Your videos are fantastic, well done, your presentation is professional, and well organized, but you've edited them down so that they are extremely fast (for some of us). The 3 step process sounds wonderful, but you spent more time on passwords than step 3 where I thought I needed most help. At this point I am unable to safely use the Android side and I'm back to pen and paper when away from the home office. I know you can help. I'm willing to try other methods.

Just so you know, when you copy your password to clipboard, you lose all security you think you have, as every app on your phone can see what's in your clipboard.
You can circumvent this by getting Keypass 2 android keyboard for when you need to type in passwords as it can access the database directly.

I am just concerned to store the key file in Android and the database synchronized with the dropbox because if someone gets in the phone and knows the Keepass master password then I'm screwed :D But then again, there's always some risk. BTW, great video.

Great video. Thanks! I am opening a database stored in Dropbox on my Android with Keepass2Android. If I make a change on my PC, it automatically updates the dropbox file with a triggered event. However, when I open the database on Dropbox with Keepass2Android, the changes do not appear until I hit from Synchronize database from the pull-down menu. Under app settings, File Handling, I have unchecked Database caching and Local Backups, but this problem still exists. Is there a way to get Keepass2Android to automatically synchronize when opening the database. I don't understand where the 'stale' copy exists on my Android if Database caching and Local Backups are unchecked. Thanks.

This video helped a lot, but I appeared to have a problem. How I can transfer my composite masterkey from my laptop to my Android devices? Bluetooth would probably be a good choice, however I only have an old laptop (which I'm very happy with using Linux) and it doesn't have Bluetooth. Do you have other suggestions? Thanks so much. 👍

Very useful video. Thank you! Do you have any idea, how to set up KeePass on desktop, so that I don't need to write master password everytime I want to use it? Kind of "auto login"?

thank you for the video :) I wanted to know why it's not the master key which is on the cloud and the keepass file locally?

Your video is really helpful, but there are things that you prepare and/or where you go through at such a speed, that I can't understand how you do it as e.g. how to find your .keyx file on your smartphone. You pre-navigated to it (how did you transfer it from your PC to your smartphone and how did you find it?)... Nobody ever mention if it is possible to use the app from the secure folder on a Samsung.... and all these "Details" block me for hours... However, thanks for your help!

How do I make it so if I make new changes to the database from KeePass on my computer and have it change on Keepass2Android as well?

Hi, first thank you for your tutorial. I'd like to know if I can use an other cloud system the the ones we can see on the screen capture of your cellphone ?

I do not have a cloud storage. It seems to me that to access a cloud service with Dropbox, Google Drive or One Drive you would need a password which would be stored in the KP database. Any cloud access requires a local DB on your device. I back up and synchronise between copies of my KP DB with USB drives. A bit slower but entirely local.
