Should GOKU Be STRONGER Than BEERUS?

Brother I totally agree with you! Akira’s power scaling has been odd since the second half of the Freeza Saga. Freeza’s at 530, 000 base form, Vegeta last recorded power level at 30, 000 while fighting Recoome. He gets a senzu, fights Jeice & Ginyu without breaking a sweat, takes a nap, & suddenly he rivals base form Freeza?

It’s hard to scale Beerus since he contradicts every statement prior to the TOP after he dragged Vegeta in his highest form post TOP.

My problem with Beerus is that he's a nothing character he doesn't do anything and he makes Goku and Vegeta growth feel pointless every time either of the two achieve greater power he just pops his head in saying "I'm still the strongest" then that's it

Well pretty sure that it said in both Japanese and English that BEERUS said he was usin 70% but was lying so Goku would keep fighting. Idk why they did this but you can clearly see whis call him out on it afterwords

Logically speaking Goku should have surpassed Beerus eons ago. It literally does not make any sense why Beerus found any enjoyment fighting Super Saiyan God Goku considering that version of Goku shouldn’t even have been 1% of his full power. In my opinion Goku should’ve surpassed Beerus during the tournament of power when he mastered Ultra Instinct. It seems like that was the narrative the story was implying… at least until the stupid manga came out and showed us that was not the case.

Yea kinda seems like they were moving the goal post with beerus' strength. I believe they surpassed him with (blue kaioken) and (blue 2) beerus looked visibly shook when he saw goku using blue kaioken on hit

It’s important to know that the 70% statement was made in the BoG movie when Super wasn’t planned to be made, and in Super that statement was removed to avoid any retcons.

The 70% is changed in super as where beerus said he used 100% against goku but was lying and saying that to motivate goku and push super saiyan god to new heights this happened im the anime in end of episode 12 13 or 14 if i remember correctly

I like that beerus is so powerful it is just not coherent with the statements during BoG. Now, with the new techniques introduced you can somewhat justify why beers is so strong because we have seen what upgrade is UI and Ultra ego and beerus seem to be very good at the first and master of the second. Maybe he also hides other techniques + destruction power. Sure it does not make sense based on previous statements but dragon ball was inconsistent in these things even back in dbz.

If you actually watched battle of god’s you will know that Beerus only said that to motivate goku confirmed by whis and if you are not getting cut up by goku’s new form Remember when whis was to training goku and vegeta that have already achieved ssj blue whis shows them a big tree in beerus planet and told them that the level of the destroyer god’s and the angels are on top of the tree while the Saiyan are on the root

Logically yeah and this is something I've wondered about for a long time myself. I don't really mind Beerus being stronger, but the way they went about it wasn't good imo. There's all these lines about Beerus' power and implications of him being surpassed, only for it to be contradicted later on. We hear stuff like "Beerus used 70% of his power vs Goku in SSG" and "Broly might even be stronger than Beerus" and even Whis stating (in the anime) that Belmod was physically stronger than Beerus.

Imo, it would of been better if either they always implied from the start that Goku and Vegeta were NOWHERE close to Beerus, but left it kind of ambigious where exactly they stood in comparison, so that when it's revealed Beerus was actually x times stronger than what was shown it doesn't feel scuffed or pulled out of nowhere.

Another way that would of made a lot more sense for the story is them showing or atleast hinting at Beerus training with Whis since BoG to stay ahead of Goku and Vegeta. I would of also been fine with this and atleast this way you could say "Well technically, they surpassed the level Beerus was at back then, but currently Beerus has gotten a lot stronger since then as well, so he's still ahead of the cast." it would solve alot of problems and contradictions.

They'd have to do so much in terms of forms to even have goku rival beerus, let alone going past him and onto angel be a metric f-ton to figure out and execute

In my opinion Goku is just superior to Beerus. Since there is no statement that straight out says Beerus is stronger. It is clear as a day that Jiren messes up the scaling here. But I just see no way Jiren is weaker than Beerus, especially astronomically weaker so we still consider Beerus lesser than TUI. Supressed Jiren was stated to be stronger than god of u11. That does not apply to limit breaking power.

💀💀💀 an entire video dedicated to a retconned statement from a non-canon movie. the super arc versions are the canon ones with the canon statements which override the movies which were technically z movies. and whis says that beerus was holding back but he didn't state by how much, making it consistent with beerus' unknown strength.

yes if bog was canon, goku should be stronger, but toriyama clearly wanted goku and vegeta to not so easily become stronger than literally everyone he meets, probably because that's one of people's most hated things about dragon ball, including those who don't watch the franchise, because all they hear about is there's a threat, then suddenly goku gets stronger, and that's it ad infinitum, but having someone who goku isn't and won't be either ever or temporarily stronger than band-aids that. this is why canon vs non-canon is important regardless of what anyone says.

I feel that after Beerus saw how quick the sayings grew he started doing secret training with whis so he could still be ahead hence why they arnt stronger yet but ofc he doesn't have there potential so I think that they r close if not right behind as In at this point they will very soon be at his power
