Why can’t you just find the volume of the cuboid and then the volume of the triangular prism and then add them together to get the total volume? Because I did that and got it incorrect but idk why

Instead of expanding out the 5(tan(40)), couldn't of you left that to the last part when you have added up the area of both of the prisms? It would save a lot of space for working out and time this way, as you don't have to write the whole 5 significant figures every time.

For the first question when finding the area of the triangle, since it is a non right angled triangle shouldn't that mean that mean you should use 1/2 a b sin (c) or does that not matter in this case.
