He’s like a better version of these “mentors” who you can actually relate with and understand on a deeper level

That’s my favorite movie for so many reasons it’s a masterpiece and the scene your referring to is a great moment that not a lot of people don’t appreciate

Dude I been beaten with baseball bats just for having long hair at the wrong cookout. The existence of a pride parade doesn't mean gays aren't prosecuted.

Love your content, on the topic of V for Vendetta, the theme is roughly about revolution and how to overthrow a tyrannical state, what they don't cover is what happens after: how do you restructure and organise society? Who leads? What do we do to prevent history from repeating itself?

Would appreciate it if I could hear your 2 cents on that. Thanks!

As a gay man who is 23. I couldn’t agree more. It’s about the law and fighting for the right to be seen. We are seen.

Most gay people dont parade around. Im 44 and im being open with people more these days. I tried to be open when i was younger but i had really bad experiences, i even got death threats. Those activists are the people who allowed me to try to live a normal, honest life now.

V is in my top ten all-time favorites. Hugo Weaving is possibly the most underrated actor alive today.

I'm allowed to walk the streets and live my life but that doesn't stop the n-word being hurled at me. The cops pulling me over out of bordem. The uncomfortable fear I see in the faces of some people. I'm Black not dangerous. But remember Freedom isn't always free has more than one meaning.

When you cannot question a group without it being seen as hate, and become hated for that. That group is in power, not the ones oppressed. People have turned disagreement into hate, which is sad.

bro, you explained it in a way that I couldn't have explained in a million years.

But you are 100% right🎉

I was raised in a small town in rural Alberta, Canada. I came out as bisexual in grade seven and was bullied quite ruthlessly for it. I have now graduated, but still feel uncomfortable about my sexuality due to this past. Assuming that we aren't oppressed is just simply wrong. I definitely am not as oppressed as some other people. But suffering isn't a competition, it's just suffering. I don't think my negative experiences are invalidated because some people have it worse, because a lot of people have it better.

To at least be fair, opression comes in many forms. Just because your not opressed in one way doesn't mean you can't be opressed in another way. But I do agree that yes, many different groups nowadays use opression as a smokescreen so the more real and pressing matters are ignored or not noticed by the general populis or even people within those groups at times, all to give believability to the type of narrative they wish to paint.
