In SoCal we mostly use tubes for trout or we call them "mini jigs". We use ultra light tackle and you almost have to use 2lb test to cast the mini jig. 1/32 seems to have the best drop rate and action. 1/16 is too heavy and 1/64 is too light to cast for any distance. The brown/green frog color seems to work best. The next best iut here would bright green power bait on Carolina rig. Thanks for the videos, I watch them almost every day.

Thanks for keeping it REAL. You don’t always catch fish while filming or giving instructional videos. I am going to follow you because your real.

I love that you do these trout tutorials but I gotta be honest, I always feel teased that you show those trout on the stringer but never show them being caught.

This is perfect timing. I took my nephews fishing today for cutthroat and bull trout. Caught a few little cutties on spinners but they don't quite have the concept of slow rolling a spinner through a run or under a log. It is just cast and reel, lol. I will have to get some of those tubes to put under a float. It is good to have a variety of lures for them to rotate thru as well. Kind of an attention span thing.

I put a ton of procure on especially when current is aggressive scent will stay on longer. Plus trophy trout is good if water is murkey. I put a lot and it works better😊

Glad to see you guys getting this info out there! I used to kill it back east with tube baits crappie, walleye, and bass. If you look up crappie tubes intead of trout tubes you'll find they literally cost pennies each and come in 1000 different colors (crappie guys are VERY serious about color choice lol). Just stick to the slightly more expensive tubes, the super cheap tubes skirts just dont have the same flexibility and movement underwater. Bobbers I've always prefered the small fluorescent stemless teardrop floats. I bought generic but E-Z trout floats are the same deal. gear cause you lose ALOT fishing branch piles and overhanging brush.

Crappie jigs is what they were called years ago we used to kill the smallmouth on them under a float when we were kids

Good video, I've caught a lot of nice trout on crappie jigs, red and white has been a good color. We use them a lot in lake's, dropping them to the bottom and reeling up a couple of cranks, and jigging. Scent works well on them too.
