In this Majority Report clip, Ford is losing billions and laying off workers.

"Ford has already warned that President Donald Trump's auto tariffs have impacted the company to the tune of $1 billion, and the president’s trade policies threaten to play havoc with Ford’s ongoing reorganization, Shanks told NBC News.

Trump and Ford have been squaring off since well before the 2016 election, when then-presidential candidate originally threatened to impose hefty tariffs on vehicles Ford intended to start importing from a factory in Mexico. The carmaker eventually scrubbed that plan, but rather than return production to the U.S. it decided to move it to China."*

All President Trump had to do was pick up the phone and call George W. Bush and ask him how the steel tariffs worked for his administration. In 2002 Bush imposed tariffs on imported steel. After 18 months and 200, 000 lost jobs, the tariffs were rescinded.

It's almost as if Trump HAS NO IDEA what he's doing.

I can attest that what Sam is saying is true. this trade war and general bungling of the economy hurts more than just the blue-collar worker. after years of hard work I finally got my bachelors degree in mechanical engineering at the end of 2016. Through internships I had a nice job lined up immediately after graduation at a design house. All throughout 2017 we were busy designing machines for automation and assembly for companies like GM, ThyssenKrupp, Ford, Whirlpool, Coldwater, ect.. By the beginning of 2018 the false assumption that this man would be good for the economy with his deregulation and trade policies wear off and reality sunk in. at which point all our customer orders began to slow down and eventually stop. By February our whole companies mechanical design department made up of 22 mostly highly experienced engineers got laid off myself included. Since then I got another job at a different design house and had the same thing happen and got laid off again because of more tariffs on steel and aluminum which is basically everything I designed with. This man and his trade policies as been a menace to my career I'm unemployed as I write this and still looking for a job.

He doesn't understand the concept of consequences of actions. He has never experienced them in his life, so he has no understanding of them.
