I now want to read a Sci-Fi novel, in which the Dark Lord from 3000 years ago returns and is greeted with genetic engineering, spaceships and AIs.
How will they cope? Will they adapt and make use of these new weapons?
Will they end up drunk in a bar?

Alternatively, you could have a Dark Lord from this fantasy world's equivalent to the Mesopotamian bronze age that returns in the equivalent to the Roman Empire.
