Venice clamps down on cheap tourist souvenirs

Fancy souvenir shopping in Venice? It might be about to get harder.

The ‘floating city’ has agreed new rules preventing souvenir shops for tourists opening in the centre.

Venice council says its famous artisan goldsmiths, glassmakers, mask and costume makers are under threat from cheap imitation products.
