Background Info

'The Unforgiven’ was the second single from the hugely influential Metallica album of 1991. Metallica, or the Black Album as it quickly became known, was very expensive both in money and personal relationships, was remixed three times and its release was delayed for a year. However, it was worth it as the band shot into the music mainstream, particularly in their home country where the record sold in large numbers. It also marked a musical departure featuring a more radio friendly sound, courtesy of Mötley Crüe producer Bob Rock. Some diehard fans were disappointed but a new army of music buyers was won over.
