From my POV (As a GEOLOGIST)
Lava +water =pumice stone, which can float on water
Obsidian is an extrusive volcanic rock formed by sudden cooling of lava without coming in contact with water...
Cobblestone is a sedimentary rock formed by the aggregation of cobble sized small detrital rock fragments....
