FILM DESCRIPTION:
Jesse Walsh (Mark Patton) moves with his family into the home of the lone survivor from a series of attacks by dream-stalking monster Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund). There, Jesse is bedeviled by nightmares and inexplicably violent impulses. It turns out Freddy needs a host body to carry out his gruesome vendetta against the youth of Springwood, Ohio. While Freddy gains influence, Jesse and his girlfriend, Lisa (Kim Myers), race against the clock trying to figure out what's going on.

This is one of the scenes that scared me the most when I first saw this as a kid. Where Freddy drives the bus off road into the desert. In the later films Freddy became more of a comedy. Just makeup, practical effects, camera tricks. They don't make movies like this anymore. Also R.I.P to Clu Gulager he passed last year.

This is arguably the best nightmare sequence of the whole franchise. Its the most terrifying as well. In general this movie is the one that has the most horror element. I loved part 3 but thats rather action/adventure than it is horror whereas the first one is more of a gore/thriller movie. As for the rest, well, they suck although I like the opening of the 4th one. Also, the make up in Freddy in the second one is still the best to date. Very realistic whereas in all the others it just looks like a pizza wrapped around his face.

The bus scene absolutely terrified me as a kid. It actually gave me nightmares where I’m on a freakin’ bus on a cliff about to die, etc. lol

Nightmare on elm street is one of my favorite horror movie franchises. They weren’t scary though. I watched them as a kid growing up and thought they were hilarious. Don’t think I’ve seen a movie that actually scared me. My mom and I watch them just to laugh at them and others watching reactions.
