I saw the issues that came with hardwood floors first hand time after time doing service work for new home construction. I also used laminate in a couple of my own homes as an affordable alternative to hardwood but had issues in the first year with water and chipping.

We decided to install luxury vinyl plank when we built our current home. Its been over one year since we moved into our home, and I wanted to take a few minutes to walk through and show you how it has held up in terms of scratches and dings, spills, and humidity, and temperature changes!

Feel free to reach out in the comments with any questions!

I highly recommend this type of flooring. We had a flood in 2016 with over an inch of mud left on the flooring glued to a cement pad in a converted garage. We used water and a squeegee to push the mud out, scrubbed and bleached the vinyl and it still is great. The flooring has been down since 2004.

I’m putting this in my bedrooms and upstairs. I love it, it’s easy to do. My husband passed away earlier this year and I’m able to install it myself. I

One year is too early to evaluate it but just to watch that beautiful creature sleeping in the middle of the place is worth it!

Did anyone notice how 🐕 never left his resting spot on the floor while Mitch was recording? What a beautiful home and family. Great video!

Had this put on my entire first floor. Had the store put it down. Looked great even after 8 yrs. when I sold the house.

Thank you so much for this! I have a mobile home and I was told to use this but the lady at Lowe’s highly recommended laminate which would end up costing us 3k for two rooms which aren’t that big. I was told the moisture would buckle and just ruin laminate but she assured us it wouldn’t. I like the thought of this stuff so much better.

Used this product in my “event venue”. We put it over real walnut that was really taking a beating!
You can imagine how many people come and go with three weddings celebrated every weekend and thousands of people. It has been over a year and has really held up well!
It was interesting to get your point of you. Thanks so much!

I love the vinyl planks. We bought homebase ( Uk DIY store ) value range planks for our hallway from the front door all the way through, the hall is around 35ft long and around 7ft wide, they were put down about 10 years ago and they have coped with a very busy house, people in and out constantly, 6 cats and a dog with numerous pee accidents, furniture moved over it, appliances dragged and pulled over it, floods from the cupboard that houses our 2nd washing machine, due to water coming up through the floors ( it’s the house that jack built ) I could go on about the abuse the floors had but I won’t, the floor has stood up to everything and is only just now starting to fail, the last 2 months with all the water under the house the wooden boards under the planks has swollen, creating separation between the planks but that’s it, we used them in our old house as well in the spare bedroom, the kitchen and the bathroom, and after the wooden boards have been replaced and the water issues dealt with we will replace it with the same, I’d never go back to wood floors or laminate flooring ever. If your in doubt about using the vinyl planks forget the doubt and do it, just don’t buy them from random places like wish 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Regards from a very sunny eastbourne in south east England xx

I used a floating vinyl in two bedrooms. Looks great. The planks stick edge to the next. Nothing is glued to the floor. Home depot. No issues. Not abused in bedrooms.

we just installed this is a rental property. I was kind of opposed to it at first because for $6, 000, I wanted something more than a modern linoleum . After install, it is growing on me. I hear that this is the wave of the future even in higher end homes like this man's house. Glad to hear it is durable. Renters don't care for your home like you do.

We've got a dark version of this in our kitchen/dining area, the one thing I'd say is don't go dark, the scratches show up way more than they do on lighter shades. It looks fantastic, but doesn't stay that way. When we eventually redo it we'll go a lighter shade I think. Was thinking about engineered wood for the rest of the house, but after the comments about how the joints go with seasonal change I might have to revisit that. We've got carpet atm, but it's not wearing well despite us buying expensive wool carpet with the best underlay we could get.

I had vinyl planks in my house in SC and it! I used to foster dogs and it stood up to pee, poop, vomit, hair, long nails, etc! It was textured as well so my rescue dog that had hip surgery could walk on it as well. It wasn’t too slick for her. You’re floors look amazing. Great job!!! Love that you had to search for your scratches. Says a lot!
