Personally I don’t think that the next Splatoon will be for the switch but instead for the next console but it would be cool if there is more paid dlc for Splatoon 2

well they offered the free demo in march means nintendo have not abandoned the game there is still the tournament at e3 this year 2019 june so see what is said there at the european championship nogami came out from nowhere with the sheldons picks and 2 extra weapons so its still relevant. of course competitive players come n go. as long as there is a healthy amount of people playing it will go on.

I think Splatoon, within the genre of online shooters, is a good metaphor for Nintendo as a whole. Slightly outdated, inconsistent and losing a lot or it’s players to other games. I love splatoon and it’s sad to see the terrible direction that the franchise is going and I hope that when (or if) another splatoon game releases, the updates are consistent and there is a much greater incentive to play it.
