A quick visit to Tana, boy bitten by lemur

Показать описание
MAF medevacs four-year-old boy after he was bitten by a lemur!
Jamie is the son of a surgeon at the ‘Good News Hospital’ Friends of Mandritsara – one of MAF’s partners situated in Mandritsara, northern Madagascar.
During a meal at a local restaurant, Jamie was bitten twice by a lemur. Lemurs can carry rabies – a fatal infection, which attacks the brain and nervous system.
To protect him from the disease, Jamie needed a rabies booster vaccination ASAP, but this was not available locally. The nearest hospital to stock the vaccine was a 30-hour road trip away in the capital, Antananarivo.
Thanks to MAF, Jamie reached Antananarivo in 90 minutes. MAF pilot, Ryan Unger, caught up with the young patient to see how he was doing.
