Apple Watch Series 8 Unboxing and Setup Tutorial

Let me show you a complete unboxing and setup process for the Apple Watch Series 8.

Apple Watch Series 8 comes in two boxes. One box is for the watch and one box is for the band.

The design of the Apple Watch Series 8 is very similar to the Apple Watch Series 7. Apple usually keeps the design the same unless you look at the Apple Watch Ultra.

Let’s set up the Apple Watch Series 8 for the first time.
I also have a video showing you how to erase an Apple Watch if you have an older model that you want to sell or give someone else.

The setup requires an iPhone. You can use the Apple Watch without an iPhone but you do need an iPhone during setup.

Step 1: Press and hold the power button on the right side until you see the Apple logo.

Step 2: Hold the watch near your iPhone until you see a pop-up that says set up Apple Watch.
You’ll see two options. Set Up for myself or set up for family member. The rest of the process is going to be similar.

Step 3: Pair the watch with iPhone
An animation will appear on your watch and you have to scan it with your iPhone.

Optional: if you have a previous watch connected to your Apple ID, it will ask you to move everything over.

Step 4: Set up a passcode for the watch

Step 5: Set up cellular
If you have a data plan for your watch, you can set this up. If you don’t, you can ignore it. In that case, it will just mirror your iPhone text and calls when nearby.
