I first heard this on WCBS-FM back around 1988 when I was about 7 years old and instantly fell in love with it.

I was in the Navy from 60 to 64 I was in a helicopter squadron when on shore we were stationed in Imperial Beach CA I can remember going to Tijuana and slow dancing with the girls in the rundown bars. This song was a big hit back then. I used to play this song and traveling man by Ricky Nelson six songs for a quarter on the jukebox I would play them over and over

This song came out in '59, when I was a freshman in high school. It was one of the 'required' 45's at all the parties I went to and dancing to it was like gliding on hot ice. Those were good years, '59 - '63, and in spite of all the things we didn't have then, like YouTube for instance, we had more than we could've imagined. On a sad note, what happened to Little Willie John was and is a tragedy. A talented life cut short. Take my advice and check out all his songs.

Maybe one of the greatest love songs ever. What an expressive voice and delivery.

I'm 60. My 1st visit to the Apollo in 1959, Little Willie opened the Show with Maxine Brown and headliners, Little Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers, my elder brother's idols. The musical power on that stage is an experience unspeakable. I got hooked and that place became my 2nd home, 253 W 125th Street. My life was never the same. Saturday's saw 5 shows for a total 60 cents. Total bliss. Only disappointment was the return to earth. 1 week in that day, these kids wouldn't come back to earth.

Tell me about it. The Regal Theater in Chicago had us all going too. About the same price. I even saw the Jackson five in 1968 before anyone knew them for about 80 by then. But the Moonglows and Spaniels and all those groups that shook up the music world, I thank my older sisters for taking me to see. By the time I could date in the latter 1960s, Motown was all over the Stage, Marvin, Temps, Gladys and people like Dionne and DeeDee Warwick. Wish I seen the Apollo. I did visit Harlem once! :)

I'm in love with a girl and she's so self-conscious about the way she talks and "rambles on". She stopped rambling.... And I miss it. I just wanna hear her talk forever, about anything. Talk to me.

PJ I heard this song on many summer night and rest of the years on KGLD 1380 St. Louis. First time was 1980 when I was 13. Albeit 1380 came to an end in 1989. But the memories of those 9 yrs gave me love understanding and vision.
