don't forget that the distance between earth and mars is very long and it also varies because of orbits, meaning at closest approach itd take 3 mins for a signal to reach the planet, all the way to 20 mins at furthest approach.

I'm 66 and l remember watching the Mercury launches on TV in the early 60s. If someone had told me that one day l would be able to pull a device out of my pocket and see beautiful color photos of Mars l would have never believed it. Think about it, at that time we had only mastered controlled fight for less than 60 years. Early today l saw the pictures from Titan. It's been a golden era for science.
