Hell, No one talks about how eren friends betrayed him.
They all literally joined the people who killed so many of their innocent people and comrades.
Reiner and Beirtold also did genocide( in aspect of the island population) and they are hero in season 4, all of a sudden.
These are the people who drew him towards what he is doing.
His so called best friend simping over a girl who tried to capture and kill him.
She killed so many of their comrades.
These are really not the people for whom he should do what he is doing. Not worth it.
He should have left the future of island and his so called friends, by chance.
