“I can’t wait to go forward 20 years to see what RTX started. Homes will have holodecks. We will beam ourselves through time and space, traveling at the speed of light. Sending photons, not atoms. In this future, GeForce is your holodeck, your lightspeed starship, your time machine. In this future, we will look back and realize that it started here."

- Jensen Huang, Nvidia (September 1st, 2020)

This is a terrible sale. ARM's whole thing has always been, “Here, this is the instruction set. Take our code or license the instruction set and make it your own way.” Nvidia's whole thing is, “No instruction set! Trust the drivers we magnanimously choose to give you!” Add to that the fact that Nvidia is competing with so many chip makers and you can expect this sale to poison ARM's business. Frankly, the chip industry's move away from ARM had already begun.

It was not only the power management that made ARM popular, it is the ARM TrustZone technology that has made the backbone of the hardware based security. I am wondering if they will allow this to go though since ARM licenses to a lot of producers.

Set up an interview with Softbank Mr Son, asking him why he sell ARM, then you are trying to get your audiences a better balance picture!

Softbank made so little from arm revenue, it's cheap which is why it's in everything

The odds of the British letting this merger go thu are low to none, that was not emphasized enough.

This deal is exactly why everyone is now supporting RISC V so much. The RISC-V just exploded in 2019 with major companies commiting resources to it. Looks like Nvidia is accelerating RISCV and killing arm. You would invest in RISC-V companies if you are smart.

It mean two things

nVidia will come out with killer nVidia Shield devices since they own the ARM IPO. Imagine a cpu that will destroy the Snapdragon and the Apple A series.

They will make a shitload in licensing fees from Apple, Samsung, Huawei and Qualcomm.

6:10. I understand such a (easy) threat to regulations and regulators when change and improvements exist (the temptations), but we should be able to welcome such changes more (easily) than fearing it-- especially today. We as a whole, deserve it-- earned it. It's the fall and rise of businesses through investing and the market that people and businesses need more faith and ease in. And it's definitely possible. P.s. What was the Paris Agreement(?)(!)(.)

"Nvidia...king of the data center?" Seriously?? That title belongs to Intel by a ridiculous amount. Intel owns 90-95% of the global data center market 😂
