This is a direct result of the literalist mentality of fundamentalist Christians - they take the Garden of Eden, the talking snake, the Tower of Babel, & the Exodus literally, so it's no surprise they freak out over other works of fiction.

If this show had been named Angel or the like and had a christian theme where he goes around preaching :"the word" they would be applauding and if anyone spoke out against it they would be called haters. Oh the irony in them.

This is horrible. I can't think of something witty to say in response to such sheer stupidity. 

It's always about Christianity isn't it?
The religious always had more trouble differentiating fact and fiction. Remember the Harry Potter is evil preachings? Shit was scary.
