You would probably get too frustrated with those that categorize every record as “fantastic” just for the sake of sales. Getting Ptah, the El Daoud on 24bit CD. Personally, I love vinyl/CD/high-res streaming, and whatever sounds great to my ears. Thanks, Ken! Still love your NYC attitude, even though I am not a vinyl purist.

Nice to see you back, Ken. I'm looking forward to picking up that Coltrane title for sure, along with a couple others. The TW title is a surprise. I have a Swiss original, and have described it similarly as New Wave-Jazz. Even when he didn't quite succeed, he always had interesting and fun takes on the zeitgeist of the time. Who is reissuing that one? Cheers.

Always appreciate your reviews and comparisons. Original pressings are not a financial option for many of us. I enjoy the reissues nonetheless and it’s interesting to hear your opinion on the differences.

Got my copy of Ptah the El Daud today. It’s good. B+. Decent gatefold (not high quality but good). Paper sleeve. Bad. The record was filthy. The record itself has physical flaws. Sound? Good. B+. Value? Not good. This should be priced in the teens.
