I have a working Amiga 2000 with this revision main board, didn't realize they were rare. It was given to me last year 😊

I am a happy owner of an Amiga 1000 that came with the same two OG ceramic chips and board revision A. It was my pride ever since the 1990s...and it is still working alright. I even managed to get some new old stock key switches for the keyboard.

It looks like Commodore did PAL mod mine, but only in terms of 28.375(/4) MHz clock frequency and 8367R0 Agnus, but not the composite output.

Also I managed to mod it's supposedly unmoddable NTSC composite output to PAL with my own little add-in board.

Wow, I had no idea that these boards existed, using the original Agnus! Didn't know it had made an appearance after the A1000!

Thanks for continuing to save the retro hardware!

Those old 2000A boards need many fixes to get them stable. I have some 2000B boards (doing all fixes for them), but still missing an A. Looking forward for part 2 🙂

I have never seen that board before. Learn something new every day.

At the time, were replaceable coin batteries a thing in other computers? Just thinking that one decision in the 80s could have saved Amigas for use in the 21st century.

Turns out the the A2000 Rev 4 from W.Germany, Rev 4.1-4.2 from the US had the problem with using EPROMs. By Rev 4.3 (B2000CR main board) they had fixed it and doesn't require the A17 pin mod.

Can probably guarantee that somebody has already made a "TOD Generator" board, using a 555 or something. lol

Interesting repair. I just wish there was a slightly easier way to isolate various pins, but I think snipping the pins is fine.

(As I'm sure many of us have seen, sometimes you'll spot a pin that was already snipped at the factory, then joined again with a blob of solder.)

Someone has jammed in new TDK box caps in place of film caps.

Hi, would you take on a vampire 1200, create an image and update ?

That board might be from the 2021 flooding in Germany
