Regarding controls, it's probably useful to note that it consists of three capacitive touch buttons (one under each of the icons). For swiping, I find it easiest to get it to activate if you start from the middle instead of from the edge, and you have to swipe fairly quickly to get it to work consistently.

I got the bitzee on July 4 it’s fun to play because I am so busy with life for work and don’t have time to play my tamagotchi so it’s the perfect electronic pet to play for people who are too busy to have a tamagotchi can be very demanding and needy like a child or a dog and might be to difficult to play on a tamagotchi for new people I would recommend to people to buy bitzee for a beginner virtual pet for kids or adults who are too busy to get into tamagotchi.

My daughter can only read a few words, so she isn't as fond of her tamagotchi quite yet, so she loves the bitzee so much. Very simple and it's been fun for her to try and collect all the pets and evolve them!

My biggest question is what the battery life is like... I mean, quickly moving the display up and down with the LEDs and the touch screen portion has to use up battery power. It doesn't look like it has a recharge port so I assume it has barrettes in it...

just got this for my soon to be 6yo nephew, hope he loves it! he loved his tamagotchi but he kept letting it die. hopefully this doesnt break as easy as it seems to!
