Controlling effect parameters in Motion 5 will save you from clicking through objects and parameters in the inspector. The ability to grab a knob while designing speeds up the design process.

The first part covers the BCR2000 (0-1:33). The second part discusses the actual MIDI mapping in Motion 5 where you select a parameter and "add parameter behavior" -MIDI (1:33-3:19). The third part shows a fully MIDI mapped replicator (3:19-6:00). The last part shows a MIDI controlled 3D camera.

Hope you enjoy! Please leave comments. Cheers!

You've outdone yourself again Sir! I've not yet snagged a copy of motion five ( hopefully will with my first pay check next week) so I have a few questions.

1. I remember you mentioning VJing at an event a while back, is there anyway you could set up motion 5 to be seen on multiple monitors minus the various control panels? If you could manipulate the items and have your changes seen in real time this could lead to ridiculous results... Imagine using particles effect parameters linked to kno

Hi i just purchased the b-control from Behringer, and I was unsure if there is some sort of midi initial setup that I need to do before I can start using it with Motion 5 on my Mac running Lion. I did exactly what you did in the video, but the parameters did not respond. I'm assuming I have missed some initial setup step- any help is greatly appreciated!

There should be no initial setup. Did you plug it in after Motion was already started? If so try restarting Motion. If not try a full system restart. It should work.

It doesn't seem like Adobe After Effects or Premiere has the capability to use MIDI as control data. It looks like you can use MIDI control in Audition for audio levels, but I haven't tested it yet.
