For any new player, remember to google mtga arena codes. There will be a code for 3 packs from every set. Netting you atleast 30 free packs. This is the single most benificial thing to do when you start your account. After redeeming the packs you can now craft mono blue in standard within a few days. This is a playable tier 2-3 meta deck that will allow you to play at a decent level from the get go. Total cost in bo1 - 4 rares. Have a magical time 👏

IMO, something else to touch on, for follow up video, which someone briefly describes below, is after you've built up your collection, will usually have a ton of common and uncommon wildcards. When you do, save them for the next set, use the common and uncommon wildcards on as many as you can before opening a single pack or participating in a single draft event, etc. Then, when you receive duplicates, they'll all go toward advancing your vault, essentially trading up your common and uncommon wilds for mythic and rare wilds (at a terrible rate, but hey, if not going to use them for anything anyway, better than just having a million common wilds sitting in bank for no reason, lol).

Good luck all new players! My recommendation would be to look up the set before drafts. In particular, look up the best removal spells. If you get to your 3rd pick and you see a really good removal spell, it's a sign that color might be open

Best advice I can give new players: have fun with the cards you have and slowly accrue staples. You can build some really fun decks that don't require a lot of rares.

Thanks for the video. Another good tip is to go online and input all the codes for a bunch of free packs. Great way to tick your wheels.

One more thing to mention is the easiest way to get lots of packs when you're just starting out is to go online and look up all the codes for free packs that come out with every set. It's a lot of packs all together

As Quick Draft ONE has come around again, I tried it today and went 7-2. I've never done so well before and it's thanks to your encouragement that I've gotten better (plus your tip to watch NicolaiBolas). I really have done well without spending money. Thanks!

Absolutely fantastic video! One thing that would be good to talk about, for beginners, is the Alchemy packs, and their differences... I took a break from MTG when Alchemy came out, and angrily accidentally purchased an Alchemy bundle instead of the legit bundle of packs when I started playing again. After contacting customer support, and trying to get them swapped to the real set, which they wouldn't, they did finally make the packs in the store much more noticeably different at least though...

Coming back after a break from the game, this quick tips are a blessing. Thanks for taking the time to make this and the budget decks videos.

Thanks for this video! Been playing Mtg since 94 on and off. Haven’t played paper since 2019. I stayed away from Arena until recently, accepted that playing Standard and Draft is better than being a “Legacy player” that never has an opportunity to play, period. I was pretty frustrated with the Arena ecosystem until watching this. Cheers!

Thanks man! I just started Arena a week ago. This will be helpful! I appreciate the summary you included at the end. Easy to get lost in all the info so it really helps.

Thanks for the vid. As a fairly new (1 month) player to Arena, this literally answered all of my questions on how to maximize the freemium aspect of it, and start building effectively. Much appreciated. I actually grabbed the welcome bundle too; didn't notice that value, since I was not really digging much into the Store.

One point that might be helpful to new players: The only way to really get value from your large quantities of uncommon and common wild cards is to convert them into cards of the current set that you enjoy drafting before you complete the set. In this way you can farm the draft chaff and at least gain some vault progress. Do you really need 100+ commons sitting around? Complete the playsets of ones you already have 2 or 3 of. There are tools to help you identify and even simplify crafting them all at once.

for the daily farming building 2 colored decks of each 10 combinations is very useful. you can do the daily in just one or two matches if you play the color daily quests with two colored golden decks. saves a lot of time

Great video! Posted it on my social media, I frankly believe this covers most of the unknowns people have while starting with magic, or coming back to this title as I am right now.

Thanks for another great video. Being new to MTGA, this helps a lot. I'll probably skip the Mastery Pass this season since there's only two weeks left or something. Probably not worth it. Anyways, thanks again, very helpful!

I just started a week or so back. I haven't played any draft yet. I been playing jump in and it seems pretty well worth it. Pulled quite a few mithic and some rares I really wanted. Last run I got a steel seraph and a skystrike officer.

I would advise waiting until you have enough gold to buy a 10 packs at once because they can often provide extra rewards alongside giving you a cushion for when the next pack is about to come out.

I'm a veteran in TT Magic, but kind new to the MTG Arena and current standard editions. Drafts are fun, but the ones who have more card knowledge have a huge advantage.
