I love that they didn’t include subtitles so you could feel the language barrier panic on both ends

As someone who speaks Spanish, this part of the movie hit me real deep. Being able to understand her and what she was saying tugged at me so hard, because I put myself in her shoes, but I also put myself in his shoes. I wondered to myself, what would I do in this situation? And my first instinct is to try and help her as much as I can, and bring her with me.
And in a scenario like this, where everyone would be fucked: we'd have to stick together. And all take care of each other. Because something like this felt very real and that it could possibly happen: whether it's staged from within or from an external attack.

It felt very real, didn't it? A lot of apocalyptic movies pit people against each other. This movie is such a great reminder that we need to show empathy to one another. Even in the worst of scenarios. We need to be united, and not distrustful.

If we could all trust and take care of another, not take advantage of each other, and live in peace, the world would be a much better place.

In the movie when he returns to the house he says he "didn't see anyone" as if this conversation never happened. I'm not fluent and had trouble understanding everything she said so I'm glad this was posted.

She could’ve just moved here and not learned English yet. But I believe the real reason she just speaks Spanish is because language is another divider something that keeps people from connecting to each other I think that’s the meaning behind it

Great actress!! That’s literally super smart they never used subtitles. I love when a movie has cryptic messages that you find out later. She was excellent!

I’m fluent in Spanish and I felt sorry for her. She’s a pretty great actor.

This is why we shouldn't leave that Duolingo notification behind

Regardless of what she was saying, she looked and sounded desperate and he left her behind all alone.

It doesn’t matter what language we speak
Body language is universal

Awesome! My mediocre Spanish was right. Well, mostly right.

I was fairly sure I had understood her but I wasn’t confident.

I actually thought I had heard her say that the 50+ deer had RED EYES the first time she spoke and I had to take it back to listen again, but my second time I heard her right.

I guess I’ve gotten better with my Spanish.

Either way, I would’ve let her into the car and I’m glad to know I would’ve been right to do so.

“¡Vamos, vamos! Mi español es malísimo, pero se puede ir conmigo. ¿A donde vives?”

She also said at the end that it might be a chemical attack.

I know a few words of Spanish, but I would have taken her back to the house with me, she seemed so stressed out I did understand Home and phone, though!! The lady did her acting wonderfully too!
