The original Mankind that debuted in 96 scared the living shit out of 8-year-old me. Looking back 20+ years later, it's one of the most brilliant portrayals in professional wrestling history, and one of so many reasons Mick Foley is in the Hall of Fame.

One of The best themes in wwe history. The beginning Sounds so gruel and creepy and Defines The complete caracter, that Mankind was: Unlovable, creepy, mysterious, psychicotic. Good work

To be honest, I find this Mankind to be creepier than the Undertaker.

On the eighth day, God created "mankind".
Why was he having such a bad day?
Why did he create all of you normal, and forget so many important parts of me?
He made the teeth that I swallowed.
The ear that was ripped from my skull.
A face that no longer exists.

Deep inside, you are merely a mirror image of all my atrocities.
The ugliness that exists outside, lives inside every one of you.

Destruction can be beautiful.

I hate how in the WWE games Mankind comes out to the Mick Foley song, this is Mankind's real music.

Memories of being young and making my brother mute the tv and leaving the room when he came out. Looking back now just makes you realise how good of a character he really was.

Mankind gives of a “monster you couldn’t help but pity” vibe

This theme song is just absolutely legendary.

After he won the match, the theme would change to the "happy" piano sound of a lonely man in his basement. Guys, there was no reason for Dude Love or the resurrection of Cactus Jack. This is the best heel character in WWF history.

Guys just to clear things up, the Piano Theme he had was for when he would win a match. His exit tune if you will.

This is one of Jim Johnston's greatest works. It has a tragedy to it that's missing in other villain themes. Like person horribly abused as child that is so scarred he becomes a deranged lunatic. It has a grasping, groping quality to it. Of a man trying to hope but failing. The Mankind character is simply brilliant. The name, the backstory, the theme-song, the portrayal. Like he's impervious to/enjoys pain. Then they play Johnson's soft piano music at the end of his matches like he's calming down.

Great theme. Loved all the faces of Foley, but the tormented nature of the boy from the boiler room always stood out. This music encapsulated  that persona perfectly. Simply put: Foley is God.

Early Mankind was so well done.

The disturbed vignettes, the creepy theme which just sounds like the personification of what goes on in a disturbed mind, the ring light that resembled a window that he would sit and rock back and forth in when he got in the ring and finally the piano exit song to soothe and bring him under control again.

Mankind gimmick was better at the beginning, but it started to transform to a childish person who loves to fool around from a deranged psychopath which was way more better. The Cena kids nowadays would poop in their pants if they were to see Mankind pull his own hair and squeal while applying the mandible claw

"DESTRUCTION CAN BE BEAUTIFUL!" This guy cut the best promos in my opinion. Foley is a legend for pulling off what he has all of these years but Mankind is the best face of Foley.

I remember getting War Zone from the flea market and this theme scaring me. JJ is such a superb composer.

This gave me chills when he came out. One of the best to ever do it

The scariest theme song in WWE ever, but with one of the greatest pops of all time when he won that title from the Rock inn 99, such an iconic moment, love this theme

I’ve always loved this version of Mankind’s entrance music. It represents just how creepy of a character he was. Almost reminds me of something you’ll hear in an episode of The Walking Dead.
