just finished binge watching this series and switched to emacs as my editor and window manager after many years of vim. I always thought emacs was bloated, but it's not so bloated anymore when you make it basically your entire userspace. it's actually more elegant than taping together 100 different programs with shell scripts, it just feels like everything fits together nicely while retaining the modularity. looking forward to future vids while I develop muscle memory for the keybinds

Could you do a video on setting up email in emacs? I know there are different ways to set it up depending on what email provider you use, but showing how to do it for something generic like Gmail would be really helpful.

When I first started using Swiper I loved it so much that I bound it to C-s and totally replaced isearch. Then I realized that swiper is laggy on really large buffers where isearch has no problem, so for me there is a need for both functions. I have isearch bound to C-s and Swiper bount to C-s-s.

Uncle Dave: you have one of the best Emacs topic YouTube channel in these days (much more clear than the Zamansky channel, imo). Please, do more package videos. I use your config, and I love it. But, I use to write a lot, and I love LaTeX for do that work. On Emacs there are a package called AucTex, but I don't know if I can use it with your config. Can you do a review of this issue, please? And, for presentations, there a couple of buddies that do an excellent job, but I don't know how to use them yet; they are called Reveal.js with Org-Reveal. If you want, please do a review of this packages, but with your Uncle Dave Emacs config.... If the packages don't make conflict with config, please teach me how to add them.... FYI, I've found that swiper does not play nice with visual-line-mode enabled in org files. It takes waaay longer to show the initial search list after activating and also opens all org headings in the entire document (wtf?) without closing them once you cancel your search or move elsewhere in the document (wtf?). That was my experience anyways. Love the package now that I've figured out why that behavior was happening (it was very annoying while editing config.org, which is something that swiper is very helpful for since the document is so long and it's layout can be somewhat nebulous).

Default search is not so bad and have a Swiper like functionality called occur. After <C-s> WORD press <C-o>.

I was expecting to learn something new (or more) on what I actually knew about Swiper... but not yet...
